cargo organizer TE with sliding tray...

I just purchased the Toyota cargo organizer part # PT924-89100-20...it's basically a fix to keep stuff from falling into the gap in the back of the tray. Mine came from Sparks with scratches, but they may not be visible when the thing is installed.
How hard is the thing to install (no instructions) and does anyone have pictures of one of these installed?

Thanks for the pdf...confirmed my suspicion that this is one of the dumbest factory accessories EVER.
From what I can gather, it looks like you take your nice, flat surface and make it "not flat" anymore. I was under the impression that it folded the opposite direction to cover the gap. In the instructions, it folds towards the rear? How stupid is that?

Anyone got photos of one pf these installed?

I thought this was normally part of the truck, and now some trucks don't have it? Both TE's that I purchased (10 and 12) came with this and the rear cover too. Anyhow, it's a terrible design because it leaves a big bump so large boxes can't sit flat anymore in the back. I removed in on my 2010 and I'll do the same on my 2012 when spring comes.

Standard equipment of Canadian TE models, I guess this is why we pay more than in the US. I remove mine after a couple of months; useless accessory. In fact I would prefer not to have the sliding tray altogether.

I'm trying to figure out how to remove this stupid sliding cargo tray. I do not understand it. If I was moving boulders for a living, it would come in handy.

I would rather have it completely flat, just in case the boss throws me out for the night! HA!

It came standard on my LTD. On the fence on the usefulness of it. I do use it currently to keep some stuff organized between the tray and the back seat.

20/20 hindsight, I would probably delete the sliding tray. Since there are no D-rings on there, my cargo net does no slide with the tray, making the tray fairly useless.

Nice idea.. poor execution; I'd rather have the option of having ARB like cargo drawers.

yeah, i removed that divider dingus from my Trail almost immediately. having the cargo area perfectly flat is great for crashing in the back from time to time. plus, well, cargo.

i agree with Okki: the slideout tray isn't a terrible idea; it's just not implemented that well. you can always add a couple of D-rings/anchor points however.

Some folks have done that, but since the tray platform is actually foam filled, there isn't a whole lot of strength there. It's foam sandwiched between some thin plastic. For the effort needed to securely mount some track and d-Rings, I'll sooner put those costs towards two low ARB drawers.

Flat top surface, secure to bolt some d-rings to, plus it means my bag of recovery gear is now nicely out of sight in organized drawers.

I like the idea of drawers for the hidden storage but I am spoiled to having the sliding tray for the kid's diaper changes and tailgating... even if it does block the antman cupholders!

Has anyone tried using the factory tray as a template and made a plywood tray for more secure anchor mounting? Glueing up a couple of layers should get close the the same thickness to keep the flat floor. If you could reuse the oem slides and latch the cost should be significantly less than ARB drawers.
