cargo slider

does anyone know if the oem cargo slider will fit the 2015 trail edition...the dealership doesn't seem to have a solid answer for me...i want that slider tray for my trail..

The sliding cargo tray is an option on the trail editions so yes it will fit. If you plan to add this after the fact the costs for the parts and pieces is likely extremely high vs just ordering from factory.

Thought I read a post on here where someone didn't like their slider and wanted to remove it. Maybe you pick one up on here.

I had my local dealer's parts guy chasing around trying to find out how to get one, and his final word was if it's not installed at the factory or ordered that way you're out of luck. They cannot order it as a spare part. It's not even in their parts system.

I had to show him a brochure to convince him they even exist. He realized what I was talking about after I showed him the picture, and he even turned your computer screen around to show me they are not available in the catalog as parts.

I've seen 1 or 2 come up in the for sale thread, but they wouldn't ship and were too far away to travel for.

This is (almost) exactly what happened to me 2 weeks ago when my '15 TEP finally arrived. When I ordered it, I pointed to the picture in the 2015 brochure (and also online) and told the guy to include the sliding cargo tray system. The Sales Manager said that the option, as a complete unit, was not available on his ordering system but he was able to 'build' the option by purchasing all of the required parts individually, which his Service Department was going to install as soon as my truck arrived. The option tacked on an additional $503 to my invoice.

Fast forward to when my truck arrives. The Service Department calls me and says 'we see where you ordered a sliding cargo tray but that is not what Toyota sent'...Toyota had actually only sent the little divider thingy to keep cargo separated in the rear. When I told them what I wanted (and paid for), the main service guy, along with Sales Manager from up front, came to the screen with me looking over their shoulders to try to order the correct parts. Long story short, there is a lot more involved to order this sliding deck as separate parts, and the total cost was almost $2000 in parts alone. Plus, my rear area plastic, floor, etc. would all have to be modified. Therefore, after profuse apologies from everyone at the dealership, I walked away with a check for $503, a free tank of gas and lifetime carwashes for my trouble.

All in all, even though the sliding rear deck shows as an option in the 2015 brochure, and (sometimes) shows up online as an accessory, from what my dealer can tell (and I witnessed in their system), the standalone complete option is not currently available for the 2015s, at least not in my area. You can probably build it with individual parts, but its gonna cost you.

And two weeks into 5th gen ownership, I've had my rear end loaded down with everything from 4-people worth of weekend skiing gear to lift parts/wheels/tires, and in the end I really appreciate the extra inches of rear height that you loose with the sliding tray.

Don't know about your dealer, but my 4Runner came with a full tank and lifetime car washes.

What I didn't catch was the bastards snuck an extended warranty in there. I went in asking what was the price on an extended maintenance agreement (don't ask), and the woman at the service desk said "Do you know you have an extended warranty?"

When I first got the 2013 T4R TE I hated the slide out, but once I had to carry some heavy crap for work I loved it. Don't have to reach in, just slide the tray out and lift the crate into the cart. The tray just clears a Rubbermaid plastic cart. I had to put some strips of rubber in there to keep stuff from sliding around though, I think the are rubber tops to stair treads.
