This is a really old thread, so I'm wondering---- is there anything out there now? The truck bed liner? no one ever replied about whether that left marks... I suppose you could some fabric or carpet down first and then the cargo liner.
We have two chows and they are super furry, Instead of seat covers we figure they'll be more comfortable to sit on everything folded down, and that will protect the seats from the fur and then we can just fold them up when people do ride with us.
We want to get a pet barrier to put up between the cargo area where place luggage and the folded 2nd row area for the dogs to sit in. I have always been told that the very back of the SUVs is more of a "crash area" and I don't want to have my dogs in that area if at all possible. ... However, one of my pups is also getting older so I will probably have to get a pet ramp for her. So if you have thoughts on that and easily adjustable pet barriers I'd love that too.

Yes the truck bed mat works AWESOME! I'm always loading big, heavy equipment in the 4R tho. I did cut a massive piece of clean cardboard to put between the carpet and bed mat cause it will leave black marks if you don't. I just bought a used mat from someone selling on Craigslist. It's a thinker than normal mat, almost a horse stall mat thickness. That's always another option too if you have a horse/cattle supply place near you those mats are usually cheaper than a truck bed mat.
