Terrible news! He was a personal hero for me and my Father both. My parents even named my sister "Shelby"...

For my 30th birthday, my Dad carved me a 1/10 scale AC Cobra from mahogany, and I always wanted to get it signed by Mr Shelby himself....

Sad day for gearheads.

A true pioneer in the business, and the genius behind MANY great vehicles! What a loss to the motorsports world...but what a legacy he left behind. Acidmeld, great tribute pics...right up until that red Daytona Turbo (I think we could've left that one off Shelby's attributes--LOL).

Really sad day. I have always loved all of his creations and think that it will be almost impossible for anyone to match the amount of innovation he gave to the racing world up until the day he died.

I had saved up my money for years and when I was 15, I bought and built a factory 5 cobra kit by myself over a year and a half. The cobra is such a basic car, but its bullet proof and FUN! I was really sad to sell my cobra to buy my truck and be able to start my record label = ( I miss it dearly!

Thank you Carroll for all you've done! You will be missed :moping:

Sad news. That man was a living legend and genius designer. He will never be replaced.
