Castrol Edge?

hi chaps..

I was wondering if anyone has used Castrol Edge in their rigs before?

because I was going to Costco over the weekend and pick up the Mobil 1 5w30 6 quarts for $28 dollars but when I was over at another forum..

the Castrol Edge for 5 quarts is about $18 dollars and some change..

I'm thinking about picking up a few bottles of it and giving it an try..

I've been using it for 6k miles now. Castrol Edge Syntec Black blah blah... it has a couple of names depending on when the lot was made. It's all the same stuff tho. I will be sending a sample of my next batch to BSL so I have nothing concrete but I've been happy with it. I'm tired of all the mobil 1 hype and thru first hand anecdotal experience, I'm happy with the protection Castrol offers.

In reality any of the major synthetic oils are fine in these trucks. I use Penzoil Ultra or Platinum (which ever is on sale). I sent Blackstone labs a few samples with solid results do I just stick with the Penzoil in my 4Runner. But the Castrol, Mobil, etc.. Are all good quality. I am not sure I would want to run the Castrol (GC Version) 5w30 though as it is pretty thick for a 5w30. The GC version is harder and harder to find though.

Big fan of the Castrol edge. Use it in my motorcycle (high rpm motor), and can get about 7k miles before it starts getting nasty. I prefer it because it's a BP product. Just please don't use auto zone oil

It is good stuff; I have personally run the 0w-30 (German Castrol) in my 99 and it has been fine. Also have used 10w-30 and been happy with it.
