Catalytic converter question

I had 2012 on lift to check what I would need to do to replace front shocks and I noticed the CAT on the driver's side had no heat shielding like the passenger side.

Anyone know why? They look the same and are same distances from frame and related parts except for a driveshaft.

Not sure about why it only has a heat shiel on the driver's side and not the passenger side. The parts listing, however, shows that this is the way they come and that you aren't missing anything.

If I'm looking at that right, it looks like the o2 sensors are before the second cat on each side? If thats the case, as is with the tundras, you could remove the second cats without it throwing any codes or anything right? Has anyone done this to a 5th gen?

It may be possible, I am assuming to install a cat-back system?

Yep you can buy a new y-pipe that has no cats. Uhhh off road only of course...

The side with the fuel line has the shield I believe. Prob in case of a leak.
