CB Install in a useless pocket

If you think of a transmitting power like water.
When you're spraying a garden hose to water your flowers, you want all the water to hit the flowers. Just like transmitting a radio signal. You want all of the signal to get out to a repeater, another radio, etc... Now, let's say you're spraying the hose, but hitting the nice stone wall you put because you're not aiming (or in the case of the radio, tuned right), you're getting some water splashing and not getting on the flowers. You're still getting the flowers some, but not completely- that's what we call "reflective power". To correct that, you adjust the hose (antenna) to get more water (or in the radio's case-power out), and less coming back. Same with the water hose.

I do understand that, and the purpose, and what you have to do to get that flower the water and maximize. I think it was all the numbers/symbols/formula that was not computing in my peanut head. I guess that's why you guys go to college and make the easy BIG BUCKS.

Not necessarily. The other thing is the ground plane is usually in a horizontal orientation. The vehicles I deal with use a direct mount to the roof of the vehicle that use the roof of the SUV as a ground plane.

I have in my SUV a connex 4600 turbo, turned up a little more and some other things done on the electrical side to it. CB shop in Arizona did for me.

200+ range.

Got another on my shelf for my truck, couldn't keep in there due to the antenna kept getting knocked out of wack. Another connex 80+ watt.

Firestik antenna quick disconnect - 8
FIrestik heavy duty antenna spring - 10
18' coax cable (was JUST long enough, make sure no loops or weird bundles when you run it) - 9
Mic clip mount thing - 3 (haven't put this on yet, I got a black plastic one)
PA speaker - 7
Misc wiring, fuse tap (wired to fuse box), heat shrink etc, - had laying around

I installed the PA behind my grille. I'm thinking of making a mic stand out of some spare angle and double stick taping it in the space next to the CB and having the mic sit right above it.

Now, cut some plastic or ply wood and paint it black, to fill around the edges!

Eh, there isn't much exposed at all.

Still struggling with the Mic, not sure where I wanna clip it. I was gonna stick a corner brace (L) out next to the radio on the driverside and mount it to that but that winds up looking a little clunky. I may just throw it on the side of the console...

Just velcro it like a lot of others... that way its easilt removable.

Hey what is the connector called so the antenna doesn't fall through? If that makes any sense.
