:bigok: on the boarding, I should get a weekend free sometime this spring. With a wife that loves boarding as much as me (she'd argue she likes it more) and three little kids, it takes some real politics to get up on the hills. Times are a changing though, as they are getting old enough to come play too. Do you like Loveland pass? When I get a group together for a day at Loveland we trade off running shuttles. Ride thrice, drive once. I also have snowshoes for the more adventurous days.

Snow, nice install. Granted, I'm not a fan of mounting the antenna on the front bumper either (I prefer the rear), but if it works better for you on the front, then that's all that matters.
Yes they do. Most sanctioned trail events will not allow you to run the course without one.
They're also great to use on the freeway during long trips.
Granted, I love paypal too, but I also personally know guys that have been screwed over by them. Said they'll never use them again. Heck, there's even a website strictly devoted to bashing paypal...and for good reasons too. All I'm saying is, be aware when using paypal.

BTW, if I had an ARB bumper, I'd put the antenna up there, too. It "looks" better in the rear, but performance is better up front.

Did you consider possibly using a t-splitter and have an antenna in front and back? I'm trying to figure out what all I'm gonna need... Did you use exactly 18' of coaxial cable?

Im using a 4' Firestik antenna right now and the range is about 10 miles or so. But with the right antenna you can talk to Japan with a 5 watt radio. (Obviously an antenna that is up in a tree, but still impressive for a 5 watter!)shootmymime said:

Im nt completely sure. My dad is a big HAM guy and thats just what he told me He said if you were to wire an antenna up in a tree and connect it you could talk to Japan. I can ask him and get more detail if your interested.

sn0wrunner, you will be real lucky to get a 5 mile range, UNLESS you had the radio "tuned and peaked" then, you "might" get 10 miles, and remember, the moutains will cut your range, Ive got the same set-up, talk to your dad, and talk to the guys at Radio Service Center, they are also HAM guys, but deal mainly in CBs as all the wheelers get there stuff from them, lol
I cant see an off the shelf CB reaching China, lol maybe if the antenna is on the Sears tower lol. they just dont have the power to get out there, they are not designed, for it.. HAMS on the other hand, you can talk from here to the other side of the planet, using repeaters, my buddies dad had one in HS, and one time he was talking to a guy in Russia, I thought it was cool, but he had lots of cash in his set up.
Either way, you will LOVE it on the trail, and when driving on the highways, if ya see traffic, turn the radio on, the truckers will tell you what lane is open, whats going on etc. :bigok:
