CB Mount

Getting ready for a trail run and the club I'm looking at joining requires you to have a CB so I figured, why the heck not? Now looking at my 4runner I'm stumped on the most convienient place to put it.

Where do you guys have yours mounted? Mines an 86 SR5. And where do you guys mount the antenna? May just do a magnet on the roof

People put them in the ashtray. Side of the tunnel, Mines currently a hand held (I like being able to get out of the truck and still hear whats going on) so it just stays on the seat.

As for the antenna, temporally, I have a magnetic mount that goes on the roof, but will be relocating to the bed soon (Its on a pickup) Seen them all over bumper to hood.

Do a google image search, there hundred of mounting options out there.

I've seen a tiny one by motorola that fits perfectly in the ashtray slot.

The little hole where the radio goes in my 88 is just big enough for the radio and CB. I use a magnet mount on mine, it so far has worked better then the previous two sprung antenna's.

The nice thing about magnets is you can pull it off for parking in town. A big whip mounted to the bumper just screams "THERE'S STUFF YOU CAN PAWN IN HERE".
