Stock Photos

Bought the truck brand new at the end of November 2011. Started the bolt on build almost immediately and has been a work in progress ever since.

Shortly after, I purchased my Radflo 2.0 kit front and rear with SPC's Light Racing UCAs and 2" rear lift springs through Overland Warehouse, 285/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs and 17" Konig Countersteer wheels from FN Wheels.

Didn't like the stock antenna so I looked for something to delete it. This is what I came up with and stuck it in the base hole.

Of course I had the notorious driver side lean and corrected it with a spacer in the rear.

After my first wheeling trip, it was evident that I needed protection. I bought skids from RCI(front engine, transmission and transfer case). I had also acquired an OEM full gas tank skid from a TE to hold me over for a bit. Sliders came from Metal Tech and are the OPOR brand.

Later on down the road, it was time for new brakes. I went with the EBC Ultra Slotted Rotors with EBC Green Stuff pads. Also decided to change my hubs and all as I thought they were worn. Turns out that wasn't the case and learned what it was after much more research. I will touch on that in a later post.

After a couple years of driving trails, I've been learning more and more and decided where I wanted to be. I chose to go with Metal Tech's long travel rear set up utilizing Radflo 2.5" shocks. This kit consists of Radflo 2.5" long travel spec shocks, Metal Tech dual rate springs in the heavy version, Metal Tech off set lower links, Metal Tech upper links, Metal Tech extended bump stop brackets and extended stainless steel brake lines. I also bought double disconnect rear sway bar end links(have been more of a pain in the ass than anything).

After some trips and banging up my stock rear bumper cover, I decided to go with CBI's rear bumper. Opted not to go with the swing out at the time but now I'm sometimes wishing I had.

Somewhere in the mix I had done the rear diff breather mod and ran it up into the engine bay. Probably going to change the location to the gas filler door area. Also Plastidipped the chrome trim and am really wanting to get rid of the roof rack for an aftermarket. I just hate chrome.

Looks good! Are you happy with the EBC pads and rotors? I just installed my ARB front bumper/winch and my CBI rear should be here in a few weeks, so I've shortlisted a brake upgrade to deal with the extra weight.

Over the fall/winter of 2014/15 I started to compile some other parts. These sat for a while. Included is a Rokmen adjustable rear track bar, Cobra CB radio and other parts to go with it, LED cube lights for my rear bumper, Nitro 4.56 gears, Nitro master front and rear diff rebuild kits, ECGS needle bearing bushing and ARB air locker. Gears, needle bearing bushing and rear locker are now installed but have yet to wire up the compressor as I run as fast as I can in the opposite direction when I see any types of wires. So if there's anyone out there, please help me lol. Back to the earlier post about buying new hubs and bearings; This needle bearing bushing helps dramatically. It tightens up the gap of the inner cv on the driver side. So if you're hearing a humming/constant groan, it may most likely be that small gap. Toyota does not hone down the casting in there and causes that noise while driving.

Now for the fun stuff. I have been wanting to upgrade my front suspension for quite some time. I wanted to go with a 2.5" shock body and different UCAs. After over 3 years with the Light Racing ones, I've just gotten fed up with them. I've replaced the bushings 3 times. They are alright for street driving but I didn't feel they held up well with wheeling. One thing led to another and this is the out come. Total Chaos Race Version Long Travel full kit. Also purchased 3 Total Chaos axle shafts so I can build one to have as a spare. Also purchased Total Chaos' weld on spindle gussets. Along with this, I ordered an RCI rear diff skid.

Installed the RCI rear diff skid, Rokmen fully adjustable rear track bar and mounted the rear Extreme LED Solutions lights for my rear bumper.
