cbielat's 2011 SR5 Build Thread

Damn, that sucks man, shady ass mechanics causing problems years down the road. G/L with the repairs but I wouldn't hold your breath on that shop fixing this issue now.

Thanks man. Just waiting on the bushing still. I had called them, they said they'd call me back. You think that happened lol? I knew they wouldn't. I'll give them another day and I'll call back. Just curious to see what they say.

Sliders Redo 2/18/2017

Started on hacking up my sliders. Going to be reworking these to fill the gap from the removal of the rocker panels and body lift. It's been a long time coming and finally forcing myself to get it done. Doesn't look too bad without them though.

Wheeling 2/19/2017

Wheeling another NEA property with my friend's club. Jumped in Jared's Nyc-Runner new LX450. It's a fun truck man! Wish I had more but you know how difficult it is to get pictures when you're having fun lol.

A buddy and I replaced worn inner and outer tie rods. Had a spare set of factory Toyota outers but ended up ordering Moog inners.

Your truck is one of my favorite on the site. Looks great. Who ever that is in that pic, if it's you or your buddy looks like one of my fav actors Jonathan Tucker. He was on Justified and Kingdom. Keep up the good off road pics

Thanks man. If it's the picture from when we did the tie rods that you're referring to, that would be my friend who you see. I'll have to google who you're talking about lol.

Storage Box/Drawers 2/26/2017

You've really done well with building a highly functional and capable off road vehicle :driving:

Thanks Danny, appreciate it. That was/is always the goal and am very selective in which parts I choose to build, install or not to install for that matter. It took some time learning what the truck is capable of and in which direction I wanted to push the "build". I really don't want to do much more to it because I'm at the point where it just can't handle the wheeling and spots we normally wheel through up here in the Northeast. Pretty much pushed it to it's limitations. It's just leaving me wanting more at this point and I'm starting to look in that direction.

Been following this thread for a while and I would say your 5th gen is probably the most offroad capable build. Lots of folks with all the fancy and expensive parts but nobody else on this forum is wheeling their 5th gen as hard as yours.

Thanks man, appreciate the love! I don't know if it's the smartest thing but it's the most fun haha. I've been building it for myself since day 1. It's not the most ideal vehicle to wheel but it's what I've been working with.

I had a whole thing written but decided against posting it even though it's within my own thread. I think you'd understand the direction I was headed lol. In short, I can definitely agree with you. I guess I'm just lucky to have the terrain we have up here in the Northeast. We get into some gnarly spots and trails and makes for a lot of awesome wheeling.

can't wait to see the sliders...

surprised you're still running uniballs in those lowers considering all the mud you deal with...maybe see if TC can spec out some sealed greasable MOOG ball joints??? I ran those on my DirtKing LCA"s on my titan, they were great, no noise. also ran DELRIN bushings instead of poly/rubber.

seeing some of your pics of you fighting/working on the truck makes me happy to know i'm not the only one lol.

the 2.5" kit looks perfect on these 4runners, mucho jealous.
