Started building my storage box. I've been talking about doing this for years lol.

How is this coming along? I was thinking about doing something like this too, but was more thinking of something like the 4th gen has with the shelf.

surprised you're still running uniballs in those lowers considering all the mud you deal with...maybe see if TC can spec out some sealed greasable MOOG ball joints??? I ran those on my DirtKing LCA"s on my titan, they were great, no noise. also ran DELRIN bushings instead of poly/rubber.


seeing some of your pics of you fighting/working on the truck makes me happy to know i'm not the only one lol.

the 2.5" kit looks perfect on these 4runners, mucho jealous.

Yeah man, me either. Just been really slow getting to it. Starting to warm up a bit over here but it's been way too cold to be working on stuff outside or in a non heated garage.

It's just typical maintenance with them. Better understand what you're getting into with these types of kits. I hate the mud. I try to stay away from it like the plague but sometimes there's no option.

Pretty slow going. Wasn't really in any rush. Still need to build the actual drawers now. The carpeting came in a couple days ago and I pretty much have everything else I need for it besides the turn buckles for the tie downs. It's getting there.

I agree on both parts of that for sure. People don't realize what happens when you run race truck parts on a daily driver lol. And yes mud is of the devil.

Finally ripped off my rocker panels. Sliders are going to be reworked. Planning on cutting the legs off, re-angling and adding more support to them to fill up the gap. Then I'll weld them on. Looks so terrible right now.

I had a quick question what is needed to take of the rocker panel? Is it just screws or does it involve cutting? Thanks ahead for the answers.

Slider Progress 4/22/2017

Some more progress with the sliders and hanging with some of the crew.

You weren't kidding, those sliders are taking a ton of your time. Good lesson that it's not always worth doing yourself. The man hours you have in them seems huge!

I also find it ironic that the Cruiser is on pavement and the Suby is in the dirt. :becky:

This kind of work definitely takes time. Today was the first time I took the entire day on them. Haven't done much since the previous post after trying to clean them up some to get them to a weldable state. Plans had changed with them, used a different sized material for the legs than what I had originally planned. It's going though. Should have them burned on tomorrow.

Skid Plate Fixes 4/25/2017

Bending skid plates back to as straight as possible.

Welded broken welds back together on skid plates. Welded bolts (temporary?) to hang skids due to stripped threads. Originally tried using nutserts but was having issues with them.

FJNE x Rausch Creek 4/27 - 4/30/2017

10th Annual Run for FJ Northeasters at Rausch Creek. Another successful wheeling trip yet again, with awesome friends. Made it a point to wheel only the black trails as we knew nobody would be on them. Getting pretty close to checking them all off of the list by now. We all wish we had taken more photos but it's annoying to keep stopping.
