Broken Air Line 8/24/18

2nd time the air locker air line had cracked. Fixed.

I thought of it in the beginning. Should’ve just done it then. I think the helper spring is causing it.

Welding Skid Plate 8/25/2018

Every single weld was broken/cracked on my transfer case skid plate. Welded everything back together. Soon in need of new skids.

Removed Gas Tank Skid 8/26/2018

Need new gas tank skid.

Surprised it held up that well for the OEM. Your test parameters are a little extreme tho.

New Skids 9/13/2018

Ordered two new skids. Previous ones were demolished. RCI 1/4" aluminum gas tank skid and 3/16" steel transfer case skid. Added 1/2" thick UHMW and countersunk 3/4" bolts to gas tank skid.

Dale helped me out and welded in the nutserts to mount the tank skid. Tank skid finally mounted. Hangs too low for my liking. Also threw on new transfer case skid last week which contacts exhaust pipe.

Man, this thread has gotten me through two days of work haha..finally caught up on this awesome beast of an ongoing project thanks for all the pics and progress! I'm in the Philly area so Rausch Creek is a hop away, hoping to hit the trails this fall finally after a suspension and wheel/tire upgrade!

Was wondering how that UHMW plate/buffer is working out? I use that stuff for marine work and just about everything, interested to hear if it's been a help or a hindrance..seems like it'd be pretty slick stuff but not sure if that's good or bad on the trail?

It worked great. Never really even heard it hit anything and never got caught up with it.

So Overland Expedition 2018 9/22-9/30/18

Third annual So Overland Expedition. MA, VT and NH. Hardly any photos from this trip. The wheeling gets better and better every year where we don't have time to take photos anymore it seems.
