Long time no updates! So, we bought my wife an Acura TL, I sold my daily 91 Honda Prelude, and the 4Runner is finally mine! haha
New TL:
I bought an intake silencer delete kit from [MENTION=150813]OneOffStroker[/MENTION] and it is a neat little kit. Thank you again for hooking it up.
Replaced all of this junk:
His kit motivated me enough to install the deckplate I bought 4 years ago lol
That is an old T-shirt I used as a filter. The intake noise is MUCH louder. My wife and I went to lunch this afternoon and even she noticed it without me telling her. Fun little project all in all even though it probably doesn't do anything performance wise.
Bought some wheels from FN:
Grey FN 5's in 16x8 et-25
Lots of HID sexiness in this picture 
Any my 3rd hitch cover was stolen earlier this year so I bought this and a heavy duty lock, hopefully nobody messes with this one.
My next plan is a front suspension overhaul and then figure out my lift and tires.
This is what I plan on doing for the front end parts, everything OEM Toyota except Energy Suspension for the rack and sway bar bushings. If anyone sees something I am missing please let me know, would be much appreciated!

Looks good! Looking forward to seeing it all come together.
Your list looks comprehensive.
When I did my suspension and steering rack bushings I did not do the swaybar bushings. I read it had little to know effect.
The steering rack bushings made a. Oh difference though.
Are you going to do the rack guide?

Hmmm, wasn't planning on doing the rack guides but I will look into that.

I pounded in the pinch welds today and tires seem to clear with no rubbing now so it's at least driveable while I figure out the suspension. :clap2:

Your e46 is gorgeous. I bet you spend at least as much time keeping that red paint in good shape as I do my black paint.

I always assume mine just falls off every few years. Maybe it is getting stolen! I always wondered if there was an easy way to hold it in better mechanically without much hassle.

And in looking at that thread I just realized my 99 has the intake hose(s) PASSING THROUGH the bs baffle box... plugs alone won't work for me but a straight-wall pipe between the hose sections probably would...
I guess the better question is, why circumvent the intake plumbing bs that Toyota engineers worked so hard to obscure the engine bay with? What is the "advantage" to the factory intake design? Perhaps to quiet the flow of air?

The intake noise is quite a bit louder. It does clean up the engine bay some though.
Great thread. I just convinced my friend to sell me his ‘98 Limited, completely stock with 100k miles. So, very interested in what you’re doing!
Quick question: you mentioned some rubbing with 265/75/16s, which would only be about a half inch larger than stock 265/70/16s. I was under the impression that wouldn’t be an issue. What am I missing? I’m asking bc I was going to go to the 75 when I replace my tires soon!

Thank you! Nice pick up. The rubbing was due to the size and offset of the wheels. They are wider at 8 inches wide and have an aggressive et -25 offset. If you are using stock wheels with 265/75’s you won’t have any rubbing.

You might still if the alignment doesn't have enough caster. Otherwise, it should be fine.
