CEL on and code 1760, which doesn’t point out which shift solenoid just there is a problem, replaced the trans filter, added nearly 4.5 qts after noticing the vehicle was shifting hard. The trans shifts smoother now but still rougher than it was 2 wks ago. There was no real debris in the pan or on the magnets, and the fluid looks clear. So rough shifting and CEL with a 1760 code.

I went ahead and took the truck down to a proper transmission shop to see if they could shed some light on this line pressure control solneoid and the hard shifting it was causing. They came up with the same though I had...replace the solenoid. The part is $150 + markup 20% + 2 shop hours. Hopefully this is all it needs, I considered replacing the other shift solenoids as well but decided to leave well enough alone, the trans has 337k on it and it owes me nothing. A rebuild from the the same shope will run $1600.

No such luck, solenoid didn't fix it and will not clear the code. I had another post I started mentioning a sporadic and constant blinking 4wd light.

I know if the front third members ADD system fails the light will generally blink to indicate a problem. Funny thing is mine works intermittently between spazzing out fits.

I know the transmission and transfer case are on the same wire harness leg (IIRC).

I'm thinking an issues lies in the correlation of the two issues. The blinking lights reminds me if a short which is why the tranny is doing.

I was under the dash recently moving some aftermarket wiring around ......that's one theory.

The other theory is that the headers burned a hole in the wiring loom.

The transmission shop said I could pay for the shift solenoid $150 as no labor or they can remove it and put the old one back in no charge.

Automotive electrician says the sole pods check out ok, the wiring harness checks out ok but the code is throwing him or a loop and coupled with the blinking 4wd light, he asked for more time.

The automotive electrician has moved to the next most logical, swapping another ECU in......how many hours does 337,000 miles equate to?

Well it's as I feared, some idiot (me) didn't secure the wiring loom well enough when installing the motor w/headers and heat +contact with wires = bad. So with a ECU, diagnostics, and wire harness repair I'm at $625. Not bad and it'll be ready today
