update

Got my sliders welded on today- Going paint (Bed-liner) this weekend.

My buddy from Recycled Toyota's/Epic Addictions knocked it out for me.

And my truck took a selfie with the bad-ass machine that's still in the works, this thing is an effing beast-

a work of art...

I was hanging out at the shop during the installation of my sliders admiring this beauty the whole time... it belongs to the owner of the shop-

I feel compelled to share some more pics of this beast, the front suspension alone is worth more than my 4R haha! can't wait to see it in action-

mounted my Hi-Lift

I repurposed my Rola roof rack mounting brackets to mount it up, it's super solid and no rattling at all, it worked out perfectly!

CenCalifoothill15, you have been busy! As always your 4Runner is looking great. It makes me wish I had some free time for mine; soon hopefully.

brilliant!

:thumb: I ended up putting a 3rd bracket to hold it down. extra secure and I doubt someone would have the balls to steal it, twisting 6 knobs would take awhile to remove, plus my 4R is always in my garage- Probably going to use the last bracket to mount up an axe-

Subscribing to this.. BEAUTIFUL rig. You've done great things here. Nice work. :cowboy:

From one Dave to another- Thanks man! I appreciate your kinds words- :biggrin2:

Thanks DizzyDoyle ! It seems when I have the time I have no money, and when I have money I have no time-

The only thing left is getting my tranny cooler installed, hopefully I'll get some extra time soon!

UPDATE:

Today I installed these aux turn signals (amber LED eagle-eyes) Since I tinted my front turn signals really dark I believe these will provide more safety during the daytime which are running in combination with the stocks. I used splice connectors which made this project very easy-

Seriously, beautiful black 4runner! I hope you don't mind if I copy a bit of this. I really want to "murder" my 97 Limited out, but I don't know where to start. You have definitely given me a lot of great ideas!

I have so many questions and I'm sorry if it's annoying, but I would love it if you could help me out a little!

I must have missed it in the first dozen pages, but what did you do to matte black your Limited flares? Is all of the paint just rattle can? (Edited to add: I now see the plastidip in the first page! How much did that run you?)

Where did you even start with yours? It's a daunting task that is harder to begin for me than anything else. I think my order of operations is: black out my rims, black out the badges, and repaint all of the little chips on everything like my windshield wiper arms.

I can't say it enough, this is what I try to make mine look like but I just have no friggin' clue apparently! Well done, man!

Let me know if I can ask your advice over PM. I'll owe you one from the Mile High! =)

atalarico good looking out man! I appreciate the compliment- :thumb:

Well you could probably do a lot of it in a day, plastidippin the badges, fenders, rocker panels and F&R bumpers is all relatively easy stuff, just masking and prepping takes most of the time. (4-5 cans and 3-4 coats should do it)

Might wanna grab some Rustoleum tint spray or some VHT night-shade for the corner lights, turn signals, and tail lights. (1 can is all you'll need) just take easy with this stuff, do very light and even coats untill you reach the look you want.

If I could go back in time I would have just plastidipped the badges only, and just use bed-liner for the rest (fenders & bumpers) which I will eventually do, it just a PITA to remove all of that dip-

*I don't mind answering questions with things i've done personally- Looks like you have done a lot already to your 4R judging by your signature, cool thing coming as well! I also plan on getting the addicted hybrid plate bumper. look forward to your build!

Thanks for reaching out man, and go ahead and PM me if you have any other questions-

knocked out a few things yesterday-

1st I adjusted my headlights upward significantly , I got tired of my lights pointing down, now it's better than it used to be, however still not the best output, I'm thinking of getting better bulbs. Projector retrofit would be ideal though, maybe down the road sometime.....

2nd I also re-adjusted my light bar up 1 notch because it also was pointed slightly downward, this also helped reduce light glare on the hood. Took a drive last night and my spot beams did go out a little further.

and lastly and more importantly I got my trans-cooler installed (bypassed the radiator). Slow_T4R came by and helped a brother out! We took care of it pretty quickly- Definitely a fun project with some good company-

Ultimate-Yota presents 12th annual PismoToyota jamboree-

Open to all Toyota Rigs- just spreading the word!

This coming weekend, September 19th , 20th and 21st.

I'll be going up Saturday morning and camping on the beach over night. it sould only be a $10 fee to camp. my two sons and brother will be rolling with me.. I heard it's a cool event to check out, I know of 9-10 Rigs coming from the central valley area.

*say what's up if you spot me!

*type Pismo Toyota jamboree in the search bar to see past events and pictures-

I wish I was as rich as you to keep affording mods :( I like the TRD on the dash!

Haha! If you were as rich as me you would look like this guy-

Thanks man, but My build is pretty sad at this point, all really small cheap mods thus far!

Once I get armored up (Bumpers/skids), better suspension, and get re-geared w/35's then I'll feel a little better about my Rig!

However I've really enjoyed tinkering with my 4R, it's been a blast to own. It has taken me places I never thought I'd make it through..

Let the build & adventure continue!

*BTW I'm enjoying the progress with your LT setup!
