cencalifoothill15's simple build thread

I feel ya! :biggrin1: Cheap mods are nice though, they're like the details of the build versus the gross changes! And it's nice to be able to install something and have it only take a few hours

And thanks man! I'll have to convince you to LT assuming mine actually gets done and works correctly :D Someday I'm gonna make a trip around the US and visit all the people I've become friends with on here!

Your sticker collection Is impressive. I see the Santa Cruz shout out.

Tourist, local or Banana Slug?

Thanks Brian! I get a little OCD sometimes with stickers/decals...

hmm Santa Cruz... I guess I'm a frequent tourist- one my favorite places to visit, I have some family there and in Felton too (SC mountains) I'm also there almost every month or so for work, I definitely kill a lot of time there when I'm in town. beautiful this time of year as always. ha I wish I was a banana slug, would have been nice!

***2014-Ultimate-Yota Jamboree***

Departed early Saturday morning, got to Pismo around 10:00am, took about to 3 hours to get there with 2 pit-stops. Then had camp set an hour later.

*Air downed to 20 PSI (should have went lower)

-Then off to the Dunes!!!

Had some fun doing donuts in the sand, and hauling ass through the terrain was a blast. Going up and down some huge dunes was exciting!! I had trouble getting up some of the really big dunes, once my tires started digging, i just backed up and built up more speed & momentum and the Runner did great, just a bit of a learning curve for a guy who's used to going slow & crawling over shit. my suspension had a really hard time keeping up though, especially in the front end. really bumpy ride!

I actually popped out my drivers-side fender flair when my front end bottomed out, (bunny-hopped over a lil section), that was my only damage, luckily I was able to pop it back into place. sorry no pics of the damage-

I recognized a lot of Runners from the forums, and seen a bunch of badass Yotas everywhere, and met a lot of cool peeps. Savage raffled off a skid-plate which was the grand prize, lot's of other cool prizes were also raffled off but didn't win anything... :(

The night-run was probably the most fun, going down hill into a black hole was a bit nerve-racking, my kids rode along with during the whole time, and they compared it to riding a rollercoaster. we all had a great time-

enough talk here's some pics-

Wish I could've made it out, I'm gonna definitely try to make it out to the next one. Also real quick, that last pic above that you just posted looks like the perfect magazine shot! Good stuff.

That last pic looks like you are having some good fun! Nice. Very cool to see. :yo:

Definitely Good times! I had to hold back a bit because I had my kids with me, I was tempted to do some small jumps, but my front suspension couldn't handle it anyway ha- Thanks for checking in Dave!

Thanks man! That pic is pretty cool, might have to upgrade my avatar with that photo. I got to give credit to @MKtaco_98 over at Ultimate-Yota for taking that pic-

Wish you could have made it too, but with expecting a new baby soon, it's a good idea to stick close to home. All 3 of my kids came early- You have to get out to the next one for sure...

Here's a little video I took while at Pismo. (FJ & 4Runner jump)

Did a lil family camping this weekend, with a lil wheelin too...

Slow_T4R recognize that spot??

Looks familiar! Also looks like it was really nice up there. You hit any of the trails?

-Yup it's that little spot we camped at a while back right off Rock Creek Rd. right past the Bald Mtn trail-head.

It was really nice out, but couldn't have a fire due to the restictions, it got pretty cold at night (34*) but we still had fun, it was the 1st time we all went camping as a family...

Couldn't hit any trails unfortunetly, my wife & kids weren't having it! I just messed around in the surrounding area.

I'm down to tag along with you and Blazzin' the next time ya'll head up-

recent family camping trip-

This is the most I ever loaded up my Runner-

It sagged about 1"-2" I'm assuming, didn't measure or anything but I could tell it was weighed down quite a bit. Still handled great though! (881's in front w/Superflex coils in rear) probably hauled 300-350 lbs. of cargo-
