Center HVAC Knob not illuminted

I have an 05 4Runner SR5. I thought the light on my center HVAC knob was burnt out.

I replaced the light bulb and the lettering on the knob is still not lighting up. The arrows for the auto or a/c light up but not the actual "Auto", "A/C" "Up" or "down". I also tried the new bulb in a different location and it worked - so not worried about a bad bulb.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem?

I took my 2007 in for a wash and detail and when I got it back the lights for the fan control didn't work. I thought it was a little fishy for a light to stop working after having a bunch of cleaners (ie moisture) being used on the dash. I brought it to the dealers attention and they said to leave it for a few days and that happens all the time because they have a big moisture issue in the shop. So, I did and it didn't fix itself. I took it back to have it fixed and they told me it burnt out...

$1.00 bulb and $50 bill later it was fixed...

I just had this issue dealt with today- Half of the LCD screen on my center console had been faintly flickering for a while, then it finally went out. I took the climate control assembly out and tried to swap bulbs, then both sides of the screen went out, along with my fan control light . I noticed at the same time my temp control wouldn't work right. It would show that I was changing the temperature, but the air coming out was either hot or cold, no in between.

I have an extended warranty which covers heating problems, so I took it to the dealer. They kept it overnight, couldn't find anything wrong with the climate control, and they told me I had a bunch of lights out on the dash. When I got the truck back, my heat worked properly, all my lights were back, including ones I never knew I had! From day one I had no light on the liftgate window switch, 4WD dial, and the "auto" lights up on my driver's side window switch. Never knew these items lit up. I guess it just slipped passed qc somehow. I hope I don't have a real electrical problem in there somewhere...
