Center Idler Pulley

Its really wobbly and I think it caused my clutch fan to hit one of the belts.

I was going to go to the junkyard and pick up that center idler pulley because I heard they were pretty expensive. How much of a PITA is it to take off. Im pretty sure the belt tensioner for the TB is connected to it.

Just wanted to get an opinion. Im also going to replace the clutch for the fan since I dont think its pulling the air it should also seems really loose (spins a lot after engine is shut off or turning it myself.)

Are you talking about the fan clutch bracket or the idler pulley #1 which the TB loops over? I am thinking the former.

If it is the fan clutch bracket and the two pulleys on it, start by tightening down the fan clutch to the bracket itself. It doesn't need tightening (38 in/lb for the four nuts) much.

If you are going to replace the clutch and the bracket, take a cursory look at your 3 drive belts since they will have to be loosened. Replace them at the same time if they have never been replaced before.

And to make sure, you are definitely talking about a pulley and not an idler wheel here, correct? Just want to make sure.

Its the wheel the clutch fan is connected to. Its wobbling enough to cause my fan to hit the accessory belts. Yea I'm going to replace all accessory belts don't have the money right now to replace the TB and water pump but I'm going to visually inspect the timing belt. This is what is wobbling. (Not my picture just pulled it offline. I have all the nuts on the studs)

Actually, you have to get that fan pulley bracket (a.k.a. fake water pump) off BEFORE you can access the timing belt and water pump. So you can swap it out without disturbing those or messing with the crank bolt, which is a major PIA. Here is my favorite TB swap write-up:

You might be able leave the timing cover in place but I didn't do it that way so I'm not sure. It may overlap the bracket at the bottom. You can get the bolts/nuts off, but I'm not sure you can slide it out with the cover there.

I just did my Fan Bracket, it's easy.

Remove the PS and Alt belts.
Remove the fan and pulleys behind it.
Remove the bolts for the upper timing belt cover but leave it hanging there. (Don't pull the coolant hose)
Unbolt the fan bracket and wiggle it out under the t-belt cover.

Install in reverse order.
