Change in safety rating for 2014 models?

Just got a notice from State Farm today that the vehicle safety discount on my 2014 LE changed and that my rate was going up. Two questions:

1. Did anyone else with a 2014, regardless of trim, get this from their insurance company?
2. Any clue as to what changes in the refresh might have reduced the safetly level? This is more of a general curiosity than anything else.

It just seems odd that the change in discount happened now when then 2014s have been out for a bit instead of earlier. Sure, maybe whatever testing/analysis wasn't available until now, but I wouldn't think that the refresh would have changed the safety rating that much.

Only thing I can think of is the small frontal offset crash test where it did not do bad nor did it do great. I think it was "acceptable." My insurance did not change.

I have State Farm and when I transferred the coverage two months ago when I bought the truck, my rate only increased like $20, compared to a 6yr. old FJ. This didn't have anything to do with diminished ratings.

I switch from 2013 to 2014 and my insurance went up a little about 15-20 dollars a month, simple because new truck and the parts are more expensive to replace.

Why don't you get an explanation from your agent? He won't know, but he ought to be able to find out.

All I got was the ubiquitous "it was a change across the entire vehicle line for this model year..." which was the reason for my original post.
