Changing Bulbs in A/C unit!

You can't replace the bulbs in the radio unless you are a genius tech. I even took the face plate off unscrewed stuff inside and could not find anything. I replaced the whole radio unit with an identical one from eBay that still lit up. A few weeks later the CD quit working so I got a Kenwood. I am SHOCKED at how much better the stock speakers sound with a new radio.

I haven't bought bulbs for this purpose but I replaced the dash bulbs in my 89 4Runner with non LED bulbs. I found all the sizes I needed on Amazon.com. You can get colors too. Most bulbs were less than $1 each and you can get colors. Of course they have LEDs too but they're $4 or more.

Great write up, OBXrunner- check on those pics.

Baconcc- great link to the limited hvac bulb changeout. I'm going to order bulbs and attempt a change - white cluster , white shifter and glove box , red ect, rrwin, key ring, red ac.

This looks like a super helpful thread, but is there any way to get those pics reposted?
I've taken off the dash before to do the clock fix -- the write up and pics for that were super helpful. I'd love to do the same with those a/c bulbs but pics sure would help!

Interesting... I have a 2000 SR5 Sport but my A/C unit looks totally different. I don't have the screen like you have but istead two rotating knobs for temp and vent control.

Wondering if my bulbs will be different. Anyone know?

I have a 99 and my heater/ a/c is same as yours. @ very small bulbs in the heater unit. Hope this helps. Don't know the number, calling the dealer today.:drum:
