Edit - i'm guessing the leds are quite large to the ones you used.. but i'm not sure.. maybe a wider viewing angle could help more on lighting issues.

Edit 2 - The inverted lens leds would be a good too.

If you can find a wider view angle, that will help with the hot spots that you see. The leds you have now, most like likely have something like 10 or maybe 15 degree viewing angle.
 
Wasn't sure about the glovebox bulb size so i stuck my head in there to check.

The bulb aren't the same. i believe they are #73/74 in a twist lock base.

I'll yank out my hvac controls in a min to give some pics of the bulbs.

o wow i thought they were leds soldered straight into the circuits, didnt realize they wer scew in bulbs. def gunna have to do this now. what is so much harder about the guages? are they leds soldered in?
 
the Gauges were LED's soldered in... they are little squares... with round mirror bases and a tiny dot... like cellphone LED's.... so that's how come I'm not too excited yet to mess around with my gauges...
 
yea thats how i thought they all were... thats why i havent done this yet. I know i could do it, its just the time it takes and that fear in the back of your head that you will break something.
 
Anyone ever replace - or want to replace - the bulb/led light source in the driver's side door panel (lights up = AUTO) ?

That switch is SOOOOO hard to read at night after taking your eyes of a well lit road, it's impossible to see. I'd like to replace that light with something ALOT brighter and NOT orange.
 
yea i am thinking of replacing that one to something brighter, i took apart the switches and it should be a real easy switch, just gotta find a small bright led

also what size are the turn signal bulbs you used, wouldnt mind replacing those to blue, and how hard was it to take the dash apart?

so, i guess i'm gonna make the center consle and switches Green... i'm gonna use 12V 3mm Green LED

what do you think ?

got it, installed, it's TEAL color, not blue like led. it's a little to tall for the heated seat switches

i'm out of options. either 12V 3mm SuperBright Green or back to stock.

i'm really bad with soldering stuff, unless someone want to help

maybe you should get some LEDs from autodirectsave.com. it cost only 1 dollar each LED. it comes with resistor too so you don't need to buy one. but you have to buy by package of 20. about soldering, it's really not that hard, it's just you have to keep your hand stiff and don't get frustrated. take your time even if you mess up, try again. good luck!;):

You might be able to find LEDs cheaper on ebay. You can get your own resistors at radio shack.

Pretty nice guy, and after the aust to US conversion the LEDs get to be pretty cheap.
 
Ok..... This is weird... I have the correct resistor.. and the right turn signal LED keeps blowing out... I'm not too sure what's going on... driving me insane! I've replaced it my second time.... I'm gonna tear it apart and check on it again..... so weird... the left one.. I haven't had to replace at all.. the right one.. just pooped out after a coupled days... I replaced it yesterday.. and it just pooped out 2 hours later on my long road trip... oh well.. I'll get things figured out.

and yes.. that's how I got my LED's... off ebay. It was 9 dollars shipped from Hong Kong. 30 LED's with the resistors. So I was all set. They are in my computer case also. They haven't crapped out in my computer at all! it's pretty amazing because my desk top is on 24/7 almost. Had them in for about two years now.
