Lets be honest here, lots of people lift their 4Runner purely for looks.
Full size trucks even more so.
His truck has more ground clearance in the front than any 4wd 4runner and if a rear locker is added it's still pretty capable.
Unless your slow crawling rocks or through mud, most wheeling like light trails are completely fine with 2wd.
This is interesting to me as it doesn't look level to me. For some reason, the front seems higher than the rear but I'm not looking at the fenders. I'm using the running boards for a point of reference. I'm curious what is the height measurement from the running board to the groun.

I'd hate to try an emergency lane change with that on the interstate. You'd be better off just plowing into whatever you would want to avoid.

The Icon springs in the back should be great for towing. My wife and I are currently in the market for a small boat. A rear locker is also not in the too distant future to help with off-road capability. And, yes, I also did it because it looks bad ass.

Yes, Spidertrax on all four corners. Surprisingly gas mileage is about the same, around 16mpgs.

Or over it! In all honestly it handles pretty well. Still takes off ramps at 50mph.

No, he ditched his spacers and went to a spindle lift, something only the 2WD guys on here can do. On top of this he has the suspension that may have lifted him that extra .75" he said he gained in the front over the 4" spindle lift. If you're replacing the daystar with an icon stage 1 or adjustable boss lift kit you'll be sitting around 3"-3.5". The 2 kits will allow you to adjust your front ride height accordingly.
Here's my truck that has 3.5" in the front. The rear saga because my rear springs were from Rough County and they've already blown out on me. I'm gonna be replacing them with Icons new Dual Rate springs that are offered through Metaltech 4x4 pretty soon

What is a spindle lift? I am 2WD as well but a 3" lift would be just fine for me. My only concern is that my wheels and tires will look small. I have the stock 17's with cooper AT3's 265x70x17. Next year I am probably due for new tires so may put it off another year if it won't look right.

If you're not specifically buying the spindle lift parts you won't have to deal with it.. you'll sit around 3" of lift. And as for tires that choice is yours.. I drove lifted with 255/55-20's for a while because that's what my dad had on it when he passed he truck down to me. I'm sitting on a 315/75-20 now

I ditched the spacers in the front, but they are still on the back. Most of my front lift comes from the spindles, I have the Icons almost all the way down so theatrically I could lift the front three inches higher, but then I would have a nasty reverse rake (which I hate).

I purchased them off of Amazon for $400. They are identical to the Maxtrac's, just without the logo. Extremely heavy and I am sure they can take a beating.

HAHAHA that looks f***ing badass wow. And I'm laughing at these comments "why lift a 2wd with that lift" basically saying that lift is too nice to have on a non 4wd truck but the majority of lifted 4x4 vehicles are solely for looks.
Dude if I had the money I'd buy the newest king/fox/icons with reservoirs and lift that b***h sky high. 4x2 and all I'd have a better lift than most other people because I CAN and it looks SEXY. Let em hate. Looks real nice now next are some shoes
Question, I have toytec adjustable coilovers in the front/Springs in the back, can I add spacers to add more ride height, is that what I'm reading? Is that safe and how big can I go? I want about 2 inches more in front and rear, my bull bar weighs down the front soooo much. Also I hope you swapped your sway bar endlinks with that height you're pushing [emoji51]

I have 1.5" spacers in the back. While the extra height is nice I will say it makes the ride much more firm. Front sway bars are fine. The rear ones came off.
