My '94 4Runner has been taking a long time cold starting. A while ago the check engine light was turned on as well. I did the OBD with a paper clip and came up with a message that stated the engine was running too lean a mixture. I turned it over to a dealership mechanic. He said the Oxygen sensor was bad. I replaced it. The check engine light went out, but the vehicle continued to be hard to start cold. I will have trouble paying for mechanics time right now. I wonder if there is a simple method of adjusting the choke. All my experience up until now has been with Carbureted engines.
