Hey all,
My wife just got me a slightly early Christmas present this weekend...it was not really a surprise since both of us walked into the store together...but she agreed to it, so that is just as good as her getting it for me!!
I have been eyeing the Omega Hour Vision for over a year, but the admission price was just too high. I almost got it a few months ago when Bailey Banks & Biddle was in the early part of bankruptcy and was offering 20% off on the watch...but i still thought that it was too expensive for an Omega.
Anyways, we went to the store again yesterday just to browse and see if there was any bargain to be had. Well, this is the end of Bailey Banks and they were offering 50% off on all their leftover high-end watches. I was thinking of picking up a Breitling or Tag for daily wear. When i passed by the Omega counter, there it was...the ONLY Omega left...the Omega Hour Vision...the same one that i have been drooling about for over a year! And it had the 50% off tag right next to it!
So, this particular Hour Vision retails for $6380. It was just too good of a deal to pass up, esp. one from an Authorized dealer! A quick check on the internet shows that no one was offering close to this deal from an Authorized dealer. Even the UNauthorized blackmarket dealer can only come to 50% discount, none over it (from my brief search). I always buy my watches from Authorized dealer simply because i trust it more...and with such a complex automatic movement, i want to make sure that i have the full factory warranty (which is 3 years for Coaxial Omega movements).
Incidentally, there was a couple that came right after me asking about the Hour Vision i was holding...i knew that i only had this one chance to buy it. And my wife also agreed that it was just too beautiful of a watch to pass up on, esp. given the once-in-a-lifetime deal...so, we bought it!! Here are some bad pictures of my watch:
