Taking a break from studying... I have a big chemistry exam tomorrow night....

Last weekend, [MENTION=106527]Erickson[/MENTION] and I went exploring at a new wheeling spot

My Redneck Trasharoo- it stayed there for a few hundred feet until I realized I would soak it with mud from the tire- LOL

I finally got my engine bad cleaned up after the dust storm at Prentice Cooper last month. When I do the spark plugs in 4k miles, the valve covers, coil packs, and spark plug wires will get a good cleaning too.

I also ditched the K&N air filter for a stock one.

I'm currently deciding on whether or not I should order a Tom Woods driveshaft...

Mine is in pretty bad shape. DC joint is slightly loose, slip yoke is loose, and the rear u-joint is slightly loose. Nothing is super out of whack, but could be causing my interstate vibrations. It's either the driveshaft or something internal with the transmission or transfer case.

I usually wouldn't worry about it, but I have plans to go out west next year and I would hate for it to break on me so far away from home. I have a 10% off discount that would bring the total down to about $390 shipped.

Do y'all have any opinions?

I know [MENTION=7105]Scramble[/MENTION] has one and seems to like it...

Can you get one of out of a junkyard that's tighter/has lower miles? Swap and see if the vibes continue. If they do then put the money towards something else, if not then you can decide if you want the new driveshaft or keep the junkyard one.

The Tom woods ones are nice, I might get one eventually.

I would, but V6 manual 4WD shafts are hard to find. I looked online on car-part.com, but they didn't look to great imo.

Hopefully my friend will let me borrow his driveshaft pretty soon and test it out

Ah, I didn't even think about you having a manual. Good luck whatever you decide to do. I'd be interested in your experience if you do get the Tom Woods driveshaft.

Last Friday, I spent almost all day washing with dawn, clay barring, buffing, and waxing every part of the exterior! Then a few days later, I washed it and waxed it again.

It looks amazing

Congrats on winning the ratcheting wrench! I use the solid side to break something loose, then the ratchet side is super nice for the rest of the wrenching part, especially in those can't-get-the-ratchet-in-there things. (I'm talking about things like YOU, Mr. Power Steering Belt Adjustment)

I was shocked that I won! Did your husband get the ARB compressor or the impact?

I love my gearwrench brand ones. I'll probably stick the craftsman ones in my truck tool bag.

Both the hubby and the new 1st place winner chose and are going to get Arbs. Now we will be able to air up at the same time, that will go a whole lot quicker.

I finished up the back part tonight. Once it stops raining, I'll cut some more wood for the front section.

I have 6 tie downs that should be pretty strong. I used 3" screws for them :flamethrwoer2:

I also need to buy 2 more hinges for the fold down/ out table extension

Prentice Cooper and Coppinger Cove Trip Report

This weekend, Tennessee 4Runners had a camping and wheeling trip!

On my way down, I stopped by the Smithville Hardee's for lunch. I ate at this one on October 1, 2014- the day I got my 4Runner from the crummy dealership across the street.

Stopped on Hwy 111 looking down into the Sequatchie Valley

Got to Prentice Cooper and settled in a bit then we did some light wheeling before it got dark. Here, we're at a gas line right of way with a view of the Tennessee River.

This was the first trip using my sleeping platform. It did great! I just want to trim the forward section some and put polyurethane on the fold out table so it won't absorb any food liquids that might get spilled on it.

Saturday, we headed down to Coppinger Cove

The other 2 guys decided to air down here since they were slipping a lot on the wet rocks

Here I am checking the depth of the Little Sequatchie River at the wide ford. It was about 6" too deep for my comfort

Nick decided to slowly give it a shot

Got above the door and back on out

We then tried taking the bypass.... There was a tree on the side of the trail that I couldn't quite squeeze around. I couldn't back up without sliding into this ditch. We contemplated what to do for about 10 minutes and finally decided to cut the tree. I started with my machete and switched over to my hand saw when I got to the hard center. It was an oak tree btw... not easy work. I'm very thankful for my 2 friends that helped with the cutting.
