i just put in a clarion cz509 in my 02 and so far it is great... it was only $150 on ebay and has bluetooth, external mic, and a usb cable with ipod support so you dont have to buy anything extra. i can play my iphone over bluetooth and control it from the phone or i can plug it in and control it from the headunit. I mounted the mic in the dash right beside the gas gauge because it was the least amount of work and doesn't clutter things up too much. i brought the USB input wire back to that little storage bin next to the e-brake. had to drill a small hole but it can be tucked in there nicely. anyways, here are the pictures:
