Classics go to Moab?

Now now, we're not supposed to gloat. It hurts SV's feel-bads.

Actually... Swift Runner said that he will take my place. He didn't want everyone going to Moab without a subject matter expert on all things 4runner related. You guys will thank him when he helps you guys figure out why your engine isn't leaking oil :D

Next time we do this, we need to time it before or after the hunting season opens. I know of at least 3 people that won't make it because they're going to be hunting.

I know of at least one who was on the fence because of a college football game too. I'd tell those hunters the same thing I told the football fan. Hunting (college football) season will come every year. Hunting season (college football) season will be going on before this trip and will still be going on after this trip. How many times do we get the chance to find dates that work for a lot of people and make this kind of trip work?

I know for me, unless I get stationed on the West Coast somewhere, that it will be 4-5 years before I could make this trip again. The gas towing my 4Runner alone is going to make it the most expensive trip I have taken in a long time and we (my family of 4) spent a week in Disney World just a year ago.

That being said, there are reason not to make it. $$$ of course. You can't do anything that is going to put the family in a bind. Rig not working? Yeah I could understand how coming without your rig would not be as much fun. I did my last camping/overlanding trip without my rig. It was fun but not as much fun as it would have been. But football and hunting season? Um..................I guess some spend a lot of $$$ in that area too.

Camel's back, meet final straw...snap! Well fellas, this just isn't meant to be for me--on top of all the bizarre truck problems, I now have an eye injury that needs to heal (and be paid for). I have a scratched cornea, no doubt from something on the construction site that took it's sweet time to take me out. I am typing this with an eye parch on what WAS my good eye (figures!). The uneffected one sucks--I can't read squat with it without extreme magnification. Anyway, I'm finally conceding the fight on this one. Kevin, PM me your address, and I'll reimburse you for the camping deposit. Hopefully the story will be better for Ouray next year. Have fun on the slickrock!

It's official, I can't.
I'll be in Montana shooting a bear. (on film for a movie)

I did just squeeze in a trip out there and did the trifecta (poison spider, gold spike, gold bar and the new trail in between PS and GS. This is a long trail. Tons of fun. There are some difficult spots too.

Have fun.

Also bugger. I was looking forward to meeting the both of you, I guess we'll all see eachother next time.

In other news, I just got back from a service project where I met a couple awesome gentlemen from the Lone Peak Four Wheelers, one of the bigger clubs here in Utah. They're going to be in Moab at the same time we are, so hooking up with them is an option if we wanted to.

anything safe for a stocker? I'm about two hours away.

We might hit one or two trails too burly for a stocker - if that happens, we can make room for you in another rig easy peasy. Just be sure to have a full size spare that holds air and the means to change it. I'll be coming through Price, want to convoy?

ETA - oh, wait, you're a second gen. Sorry, we're full of second gens, you can't come.

haha fine then.

Like I said though... gotta check what my class schedule is. Got some CNG classes I'm both taking and helping instruct. If the schedule doesn't change, I have a class that wednesday night. If it does change, they made it later in the week. I can't remember when it switches over. Those ones I can't miss.

So if I got this straight this is the address?

Moab Rim RV Campark
1900 S Highway 191 · Moab
(435) 259-5002

Trying to figure out my route.
