Same here. I would GLADLY pay someone for a similar mount. I just had a Thinkware U1000 installed and looking for a clean way to mount the rear camera.

i like the concept but my goodness does that look horrible. I just used a plain money clip, slide it onto my headliner and double sided taped the dash cam mount onto it. looks just as good as these custom mounts people are making.

Alright fella...time to show a pic of this plain money clip used to help mount the rear cam. Just curious to see how it looks compared to other mounts already mentioned in this thread!

Double sided tape here in AZ generally doesn't survive the summer. Had more than one phone mount fail in the past.
I want a rear view camera that can work as a replacement for the mirror. I have a great view of my spare tire, and while I'm okay with it my wife complains every time she drives the 4Runner. Keeps her from driving it I suppose, but sometimes it needs to happen.

The clips i had weren't wide enough for the base of the mount for my cam so i actually just stuck two money clips side by side. cheap solution and not noticeable. cut/trim the clips as you wish for a more minimalist look but i just left them as is. (**EDIT** i dont know why my pics always uplaod sideways)

Looks great! definitely can have a sleek look at the end like you said. Been looking for a solution so I can have an excuse to get the Blackvue 2Chan system of some sort, not really seeing any benefits going with the Cloud compatible cameras myself. BTW You can select options on the photo uploaded onto the website and click on rotate. Afterwards, the picture should be rotated to your liking!

I picking up my new 4runner next week! Already have a dual channel cam to install.
When you remove the headliner clips, is the hole there already threaded for a bolt or do you have to make it?
How are you feeding the cable from front to rear? Right now I'm actually going down the sides and along the floor but all of these look across the headliner - did you have to remove the entire headliner to get the cable through?

Not threaded. I tucked the wire up along the edge of the headliner. Worked pretty well and did not require the whole thing to come down.

Ah, just down the side of it then? I was imagining a wire going front to back behind the headliner basically middle of car haha

Yes. Down the side. Tuck it between the headliner and rubber door seal or the plastic pillar depending on where you are at.

Before we did our cross country trip I installed this Chortau dash cam and have been very pleased with it:

Comes with both a front and rear camera, the latter of which is very compact. I haven't yet hardwired the 12v wiring but will eventually do that when I have everything where I want it.
I reused the push pin thingy from the rear headliner, I just had to trim one side of the tab so it would fit the bracket:
I decided to off center the rear cam to the passengers side so I could reuse the same headliner mounting location, plus I won't get the ladder in the frame:

Well, I had no luck reaching out to the OP for the STL file, sooo, me and my friends made our own! 3d printed but the dimensions were a little bit off for where the wire is threaded but we just cut some 3d printed stuff away.
Key thing is to get a threaded riveter tool and the right dimension bolt and threaded rivets .
