Cleaning/maintaining tan leather

We've had our 4Runner Limited with tan leather for 3 weeks now.

I'm already noticing discoloration/stain on the driver seat...possibly from blue jeans.

This is our first car with tan/beige leather. I'd like to know what you guys use to clean and maintain your leather seats.

I've been using Meguiar's World Class Leather conditioner on my Infiniti (black) leather... works well but this tan leather is a different story.

I've used that orange goo-off to remove the blue jean stain. I've also heard Mr. Clean magic eraser works well.

Tan Leather

Tan leather is always a problem. We fought this on my wife's Denali for years. Eventually you won't be able to stop the discoloration from oils and wet clothes seeping chemicals and dyes into the tan. Go look at used cars with tan leather... but doing what you are doing will make a big difference down the road. It will never look as it did new... but that's ok... its character! Black doesn't stay perfect either.

I just picked up my new SR5 this weekend and it too has the biege leather. I havn't had any problems so far with this, but I do have an interior and leather cleaner that I will be using to keep them clean. It's made by Adam's (they only sell from there website or at shows - but they do have dealers in different areas so there may be on close to you). It may be worth a shot. Plus they honor a 110% guarantee, meaning if you aren't happy they refund you the price +10% back. They also have a forum where I'm a member and you can find lots of useful information to help keep your vehicle clean.

I also have the leather conditioner that treats the seats once you clean them. I know that the conditioner also has an SPF in it as well, so it's just like applying a sunscreen to your skin to keep the sun from damaging the seat and interior over time.

Mequiars sells a 2 step leather cleaning product. First I would take some warm water and clean the seats to open up the pores of the leather. (I know, maybe we should say pleather) Then used the aloe cleaner to clean the seats, followed by the aloe conditioner to protect and shine the leather.

Worked wonders on my parents Tan leather.

when i worked valet i saw a ton of Buckhead moms who INSIST on having fresh denim and then hop in their denalis and the driver seat is just stained to **** with that blue dye. is rediculous, a berfect horseshoe of true religion denim dye. one lady told me she just took it to a dealer to clean the seats, only to have the stains reappear.

the best leather to my knowledge... the F150 King ranch leather, that thick saddle leather is a champion for withstanding the residuals of raging hard.

...oh the tough issues a Buckhead wife faces.
