Clear Coat Failure (K73)

Hey guys,

I want to seek some advice on products for paint failure. My clear coat is starting to fail and I want to know if a product (like wax) can stop the spread of this. I know it's going to need paint work since it's starting to get to the base coat - but for now, I want to see if I can stop the spread of this. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

The only bandaid cure for that is...clearcoat. Maybe try a can of that 2K clear from eastwood, or the auto parts store flavor. Try to feather out the broken edges with very fine sandpaper first...but don't sand through the base coat!

Some of the more expensive waxes claim to protect the clear coat from UV damage. Maybe if it had been waxed from new but who knows.

Looks like there is no clear coat left as the others have stated. If it was a beater that I didn’t want to sink money into I would just wax it and see what happens. Don’t wax it if you are thinking of respraying.

I'll just respray it later in the future. Not worth the hassle to do all that work for now. I might wax it for now to prevent the spread (if it works).
