Clearance problem with spider grease fittings on propeller shaft service

I crawled under my '22 sport and sure enough there are fittings on the u-joints. Of course they look untouched. So the guy with the dealer comment was right and the service writer was blowing hot air. The thing is new trucks come with 2 years free maintenance, guess you get what you pay for. See this as fair warning to anyone with a new truck who's counting on the dealer to do the right thing. Next time I go in I'll do a shitrain on them, for now I'll have my local guy tend to them when I have the snow tires put on next week. At least it will be done right. That joint on the front shaft at the x-fer case does look like a challenge.

The last time I checked, my local Toyota dealer offered two maintenance options, one for cars and the other for trucks. The truck option included greasing the driveline and cost $100 more than the car option which did not include driveline service. The dealer did not grease my 4Runner driveline under the free maintenance that came with it.

You don’t need a lock n load, a normal tip works fine, just need to learn the technique.
I was doing it wrong for years until I learned the correct way.

never had a problem with a grease gun with a hose and quick release fitting.

i spend more time inching the vehicle forward and backward to gain access to the front driveshaft because im too lazy to lift the vehicle up into the air.

If i remember correctly, i can only access the front drive shaft from driver side due to having aftermarket skidplates blocking access from passenger side, but i could be wrong. obviously it would be easier if i drop the skidplates, but im lazy and lazy always wins.

Can't you just turn front by hand? Assuming you are not in 4WD gear.

Yes, on an SR5. Probably not on a limited.
