Most handhelds come with a adapter to connect to a PL259 coax. At least my Midland 75-822 came with something.

It doesn't appear my Scobra did, but I am sure it is something I can pick up some where. I'll let you know if I am interested.

I used to have a Cobra Roadtrip if that helps. I had an adapter, and I think it was something like an HA-BNC adapter. It fit on the fixed antenna output on the Roadtrip, and converted it to a PL259.

[MENTION=146075]DirtTimeAttack[/MENTION], you will need one HA to BNC adapter like MStudt mentioned, this will convert your handheld Cobra's little antenna mount to mount that takes coax. They are about $8.

In Addition, you will need the following.
1x Firestik II, your choice of length and color. I suggest 4 or 5ft units.
1x 18ft Coax Cable
1x Firestik K4-A Stud Mount or SS-34AM Spring/Stud Mount if you want the spring.

All of the gear including the Drifter Mount from [MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] will run right around $120 and will greatly improve the range and clarity of that little handheld, while laying the ground work for a future radio upgrade if you decide to go with a bigger unit.
