Would love to hear real experience with this device and feedback. I have the old SE model andI have experienced a few times where the message wont go through, once in the deseet and once in a dense forest area.

These NEVER go on sale, when I saw them cheaper than MSRP, I called my Garmin vendor and asked some questions.
He too didn't know why they were discounted that much so he reached out to Garmin..

I found out why they're on sale: There is a new unit model coming out in June. Therefore the price drop.

Any word on that new model? I heard/saw somewhere else that someone said Spot was coming out with a Garmin rival, for much cheaper.

I really want one of these for upcoming backpacking trips, but holding out to see these new models.
