Yes they are, still use them everyday. My wife got to liking them too, she used to turn them off when she drove it.

I had some oiling problems with my 2rz setup, but once I switched to the Teflon steel braided line all has been good.

I used 1.5" abs, it has a wall thickness of .25" so it's 2" OD and 1.5" ID. I have read that using even a smaller diameter here will improve any lag issues but I have not confirmed this. Anyway 2" is the max and it's a tight fit.

Ok cool. I thought the pvc was just a mock up tubing and you were goina change it later, your still running it this way?

I'm goina start to purchase some goodies for my copycat build on the turbo. Reading the toytec site on a 2" bl I'll need to relocate the bumpers as I'll wana keep the same stock ish look.

Any advise or suggestions?

Yes I'm still running the plastic charge pipe across the top of the frame, never really found a reason to replace it, it's all aluminum after that though.

The stock rear bumper is bolted to the body so nothing needs changed there. The front bumper brackets can just be drilled 2" higher and bolt it back on.

I also just went back through all 41 pages just for fun. I need to get back to playing with the 4runner some more. I don't think it has been a lack of motivation I have just been enjoying driving it after the turbo and paddle shift and really haven't thought of anything else crazy to do to it yet, hmm....

Hello, I stumbled across your thread here and have spent the last hour reading 95% of it. I must say. Excellent work! I followed you through the entire paddle shifter install and design, understanding it almost entirely. I HAD to register just to show my appreciation for this.

I have a 91 2wd Pickup that I have swapped an 06 Tundra 4.7 I-force with the A340E (not 100% on the E) as well as an 00 Tundra 4x4 with the 4.7 and A340F. I have yet to fire up the 91 as I still need to complete 60% of the build (Desert prerunner) My understanding is that these are different variations of the same trans. - Are they similar to the transmission in your Runner? - Can this be done as easily (for lack of a better term) on the later model trucks?

Thanks. From what I understand they are all just variations of the same trans used in the supra, tacoma, tundra, and other stuff. As far as late model stuff I have no Idea.

Thanks! It has been such a fun build and I love driving it everyday. I'm selling my other 4Runner here on the classifieds, but never getting rid of this one. Being turbocharged and paddle shifted it's like playing a video game driving it, so much fun.

Like everyone else I just spent a couple of hours reading this. I was searching to see if anyone had put a turbo on a 4th Gen V8. I would love to give a couple of Range Rovers and Cayenne's a run for their money. Maybe even an SRT. My problem is I get a little bored with my truck and need to modify it so I can get excited again.

Great job you are a master as I would never attempt half the things you did. I really want the turbo setup and like you alluded to the STS is pricey.
