Been running 7psi for five years now. Figured maybe it's time to tune for some more. Threw a wideband in it this weekend and next up will be a fuel pump. After that I was thinking a homemade 7th injector setup would be fun to build. Then a boost controller and or wastegate springs.
Got lucky that the harness that it came with was 12 feet long, had just enough to make it all the way back to the turbo.

Went up in the mountains to get a Christmas tree today. Also got to test my new tires in the snow and they did really well, had a good time.
Hows the turbo set up going? Engine been reliable? How many miles are you at?

5 years now and still makes boost everyday. No problems with the engine except valve cover gaskets a couple months ago. I'm at 177k so it has been turbocharged for about 30k miles.
I hope you're not fantasizing that a turbo setup would be as reliable as a stock setup long-term.
All systems have to reach equilibrium. You have increased power being produced, someone in the driveline has to offset those gains long-term; whether the clutches in the tranny go out earlier than they would have, or the engine, etc.
You gotta PAY to PLAY! #1 rule.

Oh for sure. I'm not anywhere close to doing a turbo or supercharger. My 4Runner has 224,000 miles so I wouldn't attempt either without extra funds in case of a major failure.
However it is nice to think about that extra power living here in the mountains.

My wife is pretty cool with anything I want to do to my truck, but the time and money I totally understand.
It has taken me almost six years to get this far with it.
I'm only about $50 in this intake tube so far though. Little bit at a time man.
