Clownmeat's build thread

As far as tuning, I will have to cross that bridge when I get to it. Without all the heat from a supercharger, less underhood temp and being intercooled hopefully at most I will have to get a 190 lph fuel pump, a set of injectors, colder spark plugs and good gas to cure any lean problems.

That may keep you from running lean at WOT, but you'll be rich everywhere else. I'd cross this bridge before I started installing any of that hardware. Do you know how much boost you plan on running?

6-7psi, not going to buy a urd 7th injector kit so I will figure it out. I've got a safc, a wideband and some other stuff from other turbo projects I have done laying around.

Test fit the turbo today.

If I have time today I really want to get the oil feed and drain lines run so I can finally bolt the turbo on, driving it with open exhaust is getting annoying it's so loud.

That is an interesting turbo set up. Why do you have it so far from the engine?
Isn't there going to be major turbo lag?

It looks like you are an avid off roader, will a turbo give you the low end power that you need for traversing rocks and rough terrain?

I like turbos and they do provide free power but most of the time, they need to wound up to produce major power.

FWIW, I jealous that runner doesn't have a turbo. My Audi has 2 of them and it rocks .

Rear mount turbos surprisingly dont have any noticable more lag than a regular under hood setup.

Plenty of low end power with the correct size turbo. If you were to choose one to large it wouldn't want to spool until higher rpm then you would have a problem off road.

Just doing what STS does without spending $4000, I'm almost done and have about $500 in it.

A pic of what STS's kit looks like installed.
