Clownmeat's build thread

Ordered a wastegate today. So maybe in the next couple of weeks I can start making charge pipes and see what this thing will do.

Rounded up some leftovers and went to home depot and spent $20 so I can start mocking up some charge pipes to see where they will fit. Getting kind of anxious at this point.

Had some free time today so I mocked up half the charge pipes. Fit perfect along the top of the frame because of the 2" body lift. Also didn't know if the tire would clear but almost fully cycled and the wheel at the lock it's about 2" away from rubbing with 33" tires so good there too. Need to order piping now.

Two thoughts:

1. Looks like you're using PVC for the charge pipes coming off the turbo outlet, and forward along the top of the frame. I used PVC to build some IC piping for my mk3 supra... I sleeved the ends of the pipes where the clamps went on to keep them from deforming when heated. I think the one running forward on top of the frame will be fine, but that short peice coming off the turbo outlet will see some heat. You can get a short peice of 2" exhaust tubing, cut off a ring 1" wide and put it into the end of the PVC.. done and done.

2. The body will flex a bit on the frame, so check and make sure you've got at least 1/4 of clearance between the body and that PVC, or you may get some interference/noice when you're flexed out.

Just used the plastic to check fitment...didn't have a 6 foot piece of aluminum sitting around, but home depot had the plastic for $7 so I could see what fit.

Wastegate is on. Got the rest of the charge pipes mocked up and is drivable, but I took it out and floored it and blew the pipe off the throttle body, so need to get my silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps on there.
