Clownmeat's build thread

are you for real man.... please tell me you are joking...

i dont know what gen is that nissan but i raced my buddies stock 2nd gen frontier and got smoked, and thats when i was running smaller tires. turs out hes packing 265 ponies :wow2: but if it was the crappy 3.3 then 4runner will win for sure.

That would be the 3.3. The supercharged version makes just over 200hp (stock). Clownmeats runner is gonna destroy it unless that Nissan has some serious upgrades

Didn't notice any major upgrades except the blue oil cap, but that's only like 10 horsepower.

Either I'm a slow reader or, yeah that's a long thread! 30 pages=4 Yuenglings. Very intrigued by the amount of engineering that went into "simple" sounding mods. I understand it all but all my poor rig has gotten as of late is hammers!

Please tell me you have and external trans cooler. I didn't see one in any pics. If your gonna be hammering on the converter like in the vids brake boosting and pulling that much power at low RPM you NEED a cooler.

OR.... check out my http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/105258-5spd-swap-here-goes-nuthin.html result of not having an external cooler.

Get a snorkel! I have a Safari end on mine but it's rounded.

Overall I like it man. 7psi is safe, 250hp is nice in a rig this heavy, the paddle shifters and train horns are ahhhh, but please get that thing on a dyno. I'd like to see the torque curve. Good luck man and keep up the nice work:thanks:

thank you clownmeat. my brother has a bone stock 2011 xterra that hes always running his mouth about. its always great to find ammo for the discussion. so thank you for smoking a nissan.

Getting closer. Got the box, LED's, and dimmer mounted. Just need to hunt down the wires for the solenoids and the paddles.

Closer. Got the paddles hooked up to the controller, just need to hook it to the shift solenoids and it will finally be done.

well done sir. I just watched that video on YT, then came over here and watched it again. I procrastinate way to much...

True. I think if anything would have lit on fire yet it would have come from the turbo build. The paddle shift stuff is much safer in that respect.
