Clunk/Rattle

Recently purchased an 04' with about 130K on it.

Recently at slow speeds I've noticed a clunking/rattling that appears to be coming from the front end. To me it seems more like the sound is coming from center-line.

I've done some research that suggests LCA bushings, but visually they check out. I also checked the LCA bolts and they are tight.

In the next few days I plan on putting it up on a lift checking everything, but I'm looking for possible suggestions on where to focus my inspection.

Just to add some clarification.

Can't isolate the problem when the vehicle is stationary I've shook it pretty hard and hear nothing.

I had a "clunk" in the front end of mine when going over bumps and potholes, especially at low speeds, turns out it was the sway bar bushings. It was an easy, cheap fix, and no more clunk!

You can check this by parking the truck on a flat surface with the wheels straight, then crawl under the front end. Try to wiggle the sway bar up and down or front to back, and if you hear any kind of noise, or can feel it move, it's probably the bushings. At 130K, if they're the factory bushings, they're probably shot anyway.

While you're under there, check skid plate bolts, etc, to see if anything is loose.

Another possibility is that it could be the sway bar end link bushings. Mine are fine for now, but I'm sure they'll be due soon.

No, it can also happen at constant speeds.

It was the sway bar bushings in mine too that was making an "irking" noise going over bumps. If going on highway, you really didnt hear it, just at the slower speeds.
