CO Shops

Did a search and didn't find any strong recommendations on a Front Range shop in CO (We live in Castle Rock so looking for something within 50 miles). I've used High Country for some custom fab on my 1/2 ton but haven't heard much about their experience with 4Runners. Anyone have experience with Slee or Rocky Mountain Cruisers? Other recommendations?

I have heard good things about Slee but never used them.
There is a good shop down in Colorado Springs called Armorology. I have used them for installation work but not fabrication. I have seen their fabrication work and it is very good.

I've had good luck with Rockware in Black Forest and Armorolgy here in Colorado Springs.

I was referred to these guys by a few people. They all said TOY CAR Care is one of the best Toyota shops they'd ever dealt with. Good bunch of techs and they really know their stuff. www.toycarcare.com

I think they are down south, so being in Castle Rock, they sound like worth checking out.

Whatever you do - AVOID Performance Wheel and Tire at all costs for any kind of work.

Here is another thumbs up for Slee Off-Road.

For Toyotas I personaly don't think you can do better than Slee Off-road. I live in Lafayette and count my blessings that they are in the area.

They did an awesome job fabricating a mount for my air compressor on the install for my locker. And their custom Slee Shocks are efing incredible. Always up front and honest, and they won't try and sell you on something you don't need.

Just go by their shop sometime. They also have very competitive prices on accessories and parts. Custom metal fabbing as well.

What, I thought you liked them, didn't they do your lift?

Toycarcare.com will only do OEM replacements. They will not touch aftermarket parts.

The bummer with Slee, I have to go else where for the alignment. I just want Bilsteins installed, and alignment. Should be quick and easy.

Check out Firestone on Colfax. You can get lifetime alignments for the "discounted" price Slee has worked out with Stevinsons.

I did not know that Armorology had a alignment rig. They had a shop that they prefered to use over in Old Colorado City. I think Armorology is a little high but their work is good.

Have you given thought to doing a Mod Day and doing the install yourself?
There is enough information on this forum for guidance and I bet you could get plenty of people to help. I would be glad to help but I will most likely have my 4 year old granddaughter with me.

I have not done a lift before but when my XREAS fails I plan on doing it myself.

Firestone is the way to go on alignments if you plan on wheeling. Get their lifetime alignment and you can have it realigned after each trail run if you want.

I went to Slee and they gave me the pricing and names of the guys at Stevinson so I'll likely go there for $115 to have my alignment fixed/dialed-in as I won't go anywhere NEAR that Performance Wheel and Tire place again...even though they'll do it again it's not worth trying to deal with them.

I don't have the time but I could do the lift.
I have the Firestone Lifetime alignment on a few vehicles that we offroad with. They do a great job and don't care that we wheel them and that they are lifted.

I'll def check-out Firestone out there on West Colfax (there are others closer to me in The Highlands I'd guess).

No need to get back into how things went at Performance. Suffice it to say I don't know that I have ever had a worse service experience. Simply a string of fiasco's. Def a serious management issue over there. Nice enough guys, but for all the business they do, I was shocked at the schlockiness (technical term).

Wow! Thanks for all the replies. Mod day sounds great...I can turn wrenches - moderately. I did the spring lift on my '85 Toyota p/u but a spring compressor is a whole new ball of wax.

The idea of lifetime alignments sounds good but gotta wonder how Firestone's work is to begin with.
