Coat or not to coat New 5th gen SR5?

First time owner of a 4 Runner- well the wife is so it is 1/2 mine

Got the SR5 and getting heated leather seats installed. The dealer offers a coating inside and out to protect the vehicle for $695. Is this worth the $$??

I have a 2007 Tundra with cloth seats and I just took a few cans of Scotchgaurd to it when it was new. Now when dirty I just spay some windex to a papertowel and it wipes clean! But might be due for another application.

Simmoniz right? I actually paid the $600 bucks for it. I did some research and found out it is a pretty topnotch paint protector. They put a coat of teflon on the exterior that is covered for 7 years. No need to wax your car. I've washed my car a dozen times and it still beads off.

Exterior: Wash monthly. Clay, polish and apply sealant twice a year.

Interior: Scotchguard for fabric. Leather conditioner/lotion for leather. Floor liners for the carpet.

The more car care you do yourself, the earlier and sooner you'll notice some thing wrong.

My salesperson, after the fact, basically informed me that all their vehicles already have the protection applied to it if they're new. Some dealers sell the application, apparently. This one sells the "warranty" since it's already on the car.

It's a bit of a $$$ scam, but if you're worried about stains in your car, or paint fading, the warranty's not so bad. Pretty much anything the dealer sells you after the initial sale and while you're doing the paperwork is pure profit for them and generally bogus in some way.

Thanks! I already scotch gaurded everything on the inside and got some leather protector for once the leather is installed an will wax outside when the it is not snowing. The only thing that sounded good was they claim they treat the windows and windshield and that makes less glare at night. But I know, I never buy into this kind of thing and don't even believe in the extended warranty, don't like pre-paying for anything!

Anyone know if there is a product that you can put on the windshield to cut down on night glare? It would be nice to see better at night!
