The left quarter's last time getting a touch up before the painter gets hold of the car. The engine bay is stripped and ready. No exterior parts remain. All glass is removed.

Just read through the thread, was amazing to see it go from "Bought it to play with and maybe flip" to "Full on, no expense spared, labor of love restoration". The worst thing you can do is fall in love with a car, and my friend you are totally boned. Congrats on a beautiful score and build, cant wait to see more of this in the near future.

It's in San Clemente, CA :lol: Well with a sun-warped dash staring me in the face daily, it was a bit disappointing. A new paint job would only make the imperfect dash more obvious. I expected the same as your MR2, but somehow, these dashes do still exist. The first two arrived broken, but third time was the charm!

LOL you're so right! It was such an unexpected acquisition, and at the time, it was not immediately clear how good of a car it really was underneath. I fell in love, and hard. Thank you sir, it will be a pleasure to post additional updates (whenever i get around to it, lol)

Aw man, that first paragraph really got to me. Thank you dude. The opportunity cost for the car is definitely hefty, but the payoff will be rewarding... I can't say there's a car I'd rather own right now.

This quarter has been scary to see transform... just wait until you see this panel in dark gray primer.

Here's a little something that isn't noticeable in too many photos. This car was previously equipped with 295's on 19's... the rear wheel wells were cut by someone who was not particularly skilled...

Jeff, the painter, ran his own body shop for 20 years. He redid the cuts, which straightened both out beautifully.
