Here it is, first time completely unmasked since January.

The rear bumper is unrecognizable.

Disassembling the car at home was cost effective. I would say a lot of savings were in performing the majority of the metal work at home. The car never left my property before going to the painter. This stage was around $2,500.



With paint, there was no cheap option here, as I just wanted the job to be done right with high attention to detail. High quality workmanship is of extreme importance. The preparation and paint stages have been about $7,500. This is purely paint materials and man hours as the car was disassembled upon starting this stage of the restoration.



The goal is to have a Supra that's been redone well enough to look like it's never been painted before. No funky colors, no odd aftermarket kits.

Right? I didn't think it was all that bad either.



It was a DD for a brief moment in time, just because, you know, who could resist? I am trying to get my 3rd gen 4Runner back into action for that duty.



The Supra has been painted and color sanded already but I am waiting for my GoPro's (which should be back today) to post the footage.

Miscellaneous stuff before heading off to the booth. There are two of these, one per side of the engine bay. They have long bolts that run all the way through the frame rail, down through the subframe. Nuts hold the whole assembly together. Freshly coated in silver.

Due to the booth location, attendance was limited. I was not allowed to enter the facility, unfortunately.


I did, however, provide 2 GoPro cameras to the painter. One was recording real time, the other a time lapse. Footage is coming!

Thanks man! I'm grateful for the guys who helped with body and paint, would not have been possible without their help. Can't wait to see it turn into a whole, complete car again.

The Supra I linked hammered for $70,500.00, comparing the two it was junk.
With how fine yours is bet it could hammer at $100k, just saying.
