Took a trip up to Evans Creek yesterday with a few buddies, all was good, the main lower parking area was covered in snow, some spots up to 3-4 feet. Really weird because the road up and most of the trails were clean, must have been the trees catching a lot of it. Road up to the campground from parking area was insane, so we just traveled up 311. Met up with a guy who was coming down 311 when we were going up, told us to go only to upper 311 then come back down, because if you go up, then lower, we'd be screwed with the amount of rigs we had, and would have to all back down. Broke a window coming back down the trail, if some of you know the 'slick rock' part, which is right before the upper (scenic view) part of the trail, you'll know there is an inner side to take when going up to trail. The slick rock was covered in snow, looked like nobody has touched it this year, so we all went inner, which was fine on the way up. The way down is where I broke the window, there is a sharp left when going around the bend on that inner side, I got a little too close to the body, so I backed up, attempted to go wider, but was difficult with the angle, ended up clearing the part of the body that was close before, but having to turn more caused the back end to snag the root, which blew it out. In the end, a spotter would have probably saved me, learn from my mistakes though.
Here are a few pictures, last one is an older picture of the trail from a few years ago, now I'm about 90% sure the root I circled in red was the one that snagged my window. Could be off a little though.
