Colorado BS thread

Those things are a dime a dozen down here... not my cuz though. My people are more of the fast car type. :caked:

haha damn thats a serious swamper truck. That might be bofa's cousin?

I traded in my lifted GMC 2500 for my T4. The lift was sweet, but the damn thing was so wide and long its a tad sketch on high mountain trails with 300' dropoffs six inches to one side or the other. Tailgating people with that monster sounds like a great way to do some hard time for involuntary manslaughter

Exactly! The other day I saw some beast of a truck on the other side of the highway and I could see over the highway divider and under his truck as he passed by...
Shoot, I pucker up in my narrow 4runner on some of these roads. The Red Mountain Pass (near Ouray) a couple weekends ago was pretty exciting at 11pm after driving for 5+ hours!

Red Mountain Pass is probably the meanest paved road I have ever seen. I love how there are basically no guard rails either. you pay attention to the road, or you die haha. I hear Silverton has some insane heli and cat skiing too. Never been, but maybe next year....

Silverton is amazing. Definitely make sure you've got your legs under you before you go, hiking at 13k feet is legit and so is the ride down... but very much worth the effort. This is my second year going and both trips have been great. The town of Silverton is pretty cool too.

It's official, I'll be moving to Colorado in August. I got accepted to the park ranger academy in Rangely. Pretty stoked to be living out there!

Good for you - congrats!

I think we just decided to move up our move date to mid June. Yikes!

Colorado T4R meetup this summer? Possibly Silverton/Ouray/Telluride for some trail riding? Also then fish0281 can bring me that yakima rack :biggrin2:

What's up guys. Figured I'd drop in from the down town Denver area and say hi. Building my 4th Toyota now. A 2000 runner, lift and what not is on the way. Don't wheel as much as I use to since I have had my daughter, but will be doing more as soon as she is walking.

I just found this photo and gotta share. Sundown bowl, Vail epicness. Cheers to an awesome 12/13 season. Summer river trips, campin and wheelin, here we go!

New here from Boulder. Had a '99 Tacoma lifted, supercharged, on 32's back in the day, until I decided to 'grow up'.

Long story short, I'm back. Just purchased a '96 SR5 4R for $3500 in January and have been doing quite a bit of reading. It's Manual, with Rear Diff Lock and 180k . Looking forward to putting in some work. Tires were bald, so I wasn't really able to tear around town as we were getting pounded a couple of weeks ago.

$3500?? That's seems like a good deal...especially with the locker. Let's see some pics!

Oh, and most of us here have never really grown up, but during our day jobs we fake it pretty well. You are living in God's country, my friend, welcome!

How do you like Castle Rock? We'll be there in about 5 weeks. :frog:

Yeah...my old mechanic sold it to me. I'd told him to let me know if he had found another one like his. He decided to get out because of the gas mileage. She's a little dinged up because his lady was driving it

Just got some 'new' wheels for it because I decided to do the Tundra brake upgrade that everyone else seems to be doing.

And letting go of the Tacoma didn't materialize any maturity, so I decided to allow myself to regress...

CR is a great place to live...love it here. You moving here or just passing through?
+1 My fiance and I rented a house here two years ago when we split our commutes between the Springs and Denver... ended up really liking the community and ended up buying our own home... shit a year ago already. Time sure flies.

Moving there in 5 weeks. We rented a place in Castlewood Ranch for now. I wanted to get into the Meadows but those were flying off the market.

Nice! We are planning to rent for a year and hopefully build or buy before the lease is up.

Send me a PM if you need tools, a hand moving, or anything. If I'm not on call I'd be glad to help. Or even better yet wheeling :D
