What pro druggies don't realize, and what the governing body of Amsterdam realized by legalizing EVERYTHING in their Red Light district, is when you legalize drugs in one state, but they're illegal in all the surrounding states (some of which have strict drug laws) all the drug seeking trash will move to your state.
Do you really think that legalization of pot will bring a healthy influx of hard working intelligent people into Colorado, or will just a bunch of unemployed, or marginally employed trash will come here to sit around and get high?
Or for that matter if it's legal in Colorado, will people try to sell/traffic it into adjoining states where it's illegal--I'm sure those involved in trafficking of drugs are harmless, upstanding citizens.
I'm sure New Mexico and Texas are delighted to get the drug addicts out of their states. But then again, what can I expect from the brilliant legislation of Colorado? These kinds of laws expect other states to act in kind, but in reality most state legislators don't share Colorado's liberal drug policy, so I doubt that pot will be legal any time soon... so put two and two together as to what kind of quality people will be coming into Colorado.
