Anyone here wanna hit some trails this week in CO? I was thinking Gold Camp or Illinois Gulch (obviously skipping The Steps) or something like that, as I've never taken mine out yet.

What day(s) are you thinking? Black Forest is a little over 2 hours from my place which isn't too bad... I have no idea where any of those places you named are. Shoot me your number, I'd be down.
 
Where do you offraod in black forest? Its all private property?

I just hit illinois Gulch. Pretty much all it has are the steps. I got hung up on them but finally made it up. I also did China Wall. Thats a lot more fun. I might go up this weekend, will have to check with the wife.
 
I'm busy this weekend but let's keep this forum rolling. I want to get together with some other 4runners and hit up some trails. I'm Lyons based.
 
I'm headed down to Buena Vista this weekend for a big group run. I'd be interested in future runs though. I'm in Westminster.
 
I don't wheel in BF, I drive to the Springs and usually hit trails out of there and Monument, etc.. But there are plenty of places to wheel out here. Maybe I'll do China Wall instead of Illinois Gulch but yeah, either way. Turns out I'm taken this week but next week I'm probably going out. Anyone can PM me with questions about trail location etc..
 
I am bumming around Rocky Mountain NP and Rollins and Winter Park all week; I'd like to join everyone on a trail run if I can coordinate and meet up somewhere...
 
I'm going on a trip with a jeep friend on the 8th and 9th. First day is Tincup Pass and Italian Creek the second day is Schofield and Lead King Basin.

So I didnt hit up Medano pass like planned but did hit up Old Stage. Ran portions of eagle rock, bull run and mount baldy. Had a scare at the entrance too Eagle Rock. It was full of water and if anyone knows when its full its deep. It was raining really hard and it was flowing like a river.

I made it through but on the way back when going in an hit it hard and my intake took a gulp of some water. I shut her down and started to pump the water out with the starter. Let her sit about 10 minutes, while the car was starting to float away I started her up and barely got her out.

It was scary. No loss of power and all seems fine.

Eagle Rock and Saranwrap are two of my favorites in CO. Never seen a 4Runner up there though. Glad you got out safely. That water at the entrance flooded my Rubi once. I plan on eventually getting a snorkel for my 4R.
