Colorado Springs...Favor?

Is there anyone in or near Colorado Springs who would be willing to check out a 4runner for me? I'm willing to compensate ($/beer.)

I found the following 4runner on CL last night and want to jump on it before too long since I'm guessing it may go quickly if it's a solid vehicle.

2000 Toyota 4runner SR5 4x4-97K Low Miles

I'll be calling "Bob" this morning (9am CST) to check on the background of the vehicle and to try to get the VIN for a Carfax/Autocheck. Is anyone familiar with "Autos for Less?"

I'm aware it has no rear deflector, no roof rack and no towing package. If I wanted, I can add a factory or aftermarket hitch later, correct?

Any thoughts on the vehicle are appreciated, as well. You can reply to the thread or PM me offline if you can help me out.

I saw that come up yesterday. I picked up a 2000 same color but tan interior. Only thing it is short is leather and wood grain. Didn't want either on mine. Private seller, 1 owner, still had the window sticker with 104K for $9300.00 Mine has a quarter sized repairable dent in the rear, broken antenna and a few small odds and ends. Service records and many important items replaced (rear axle seal, O2 sensor, mass air flow sensor, brakes)

For what it's missing I would jump on it. It's probably a bit over what it's worth but value can be found in the eye of beholder.

I can sell you the cross bars and roof slats for the roof rack. Tow hitches and rear deflector are some of the cheap add ons. It is a little far for me to trek also, especially with the way the snow has been coming down it would take several hours to get there and back. I'd make sure it has a rear locker as claimed, most dealers don't know their own ass from a hole in the ground.

Thats a nice looking highlander. I doubt he could confuse rear diff lock with center diff lock as 2000 highlander 4runners didnt have the center diff yet. Not till 01.

May be like 500-1k overpriced. But I would really work the sale on this one.
Its also way too far for me to check, but free bump for you.

I feel your pain on not having a roof rack and or hitch. (i might go bumper with a hitch and found roof tracks to mount on the roof with Thule foots and cross bars. I will mount when it warms up)

I just bought a 00 5 spd e-locker with 117k miles for 6k. althought I had to replace the rear axle due to rust ($650 installed later). but all is good now except tires suck ass in snow.

good luck and happy shopping. I would consider that one too, but steep for what i had cash for. like that color better than my marron, but mine had everthing else I was looking for so color was low on my list.

Update:

I spoke with the seller last night and he seemed straight, but he's a one man operation and just has a small lot in Colorado Springs. He mentioned he had the front bumper repaired and that I'd probably see that on carfax/autocheck (I went with autocheck for a month.)

Indications would be the vehicle was considered a total loss by insurance if they (the insurance company) registered the new title? If I were closer, I'd have a pre-purchase done just to make sure it's straight, but since I'm in MN and the car is in CO I don't want to go through the hassle. That's not to say I wouldn't get one anyway, but I just think I can find something less questionable/risky.
