coltonbaxter31's build thread

I bet. I used the same exact projectors. I think you asked me about them on Instagram.

Yeah, we have the same ones. You just have color changing led ring around yours. I was going to do that but I think I'll hold off on them for now.

Forgot to mention got rid of the ugly blacked out corners. The clear corners look a lot better.

Getting great gas mileage with the 35s. I'm actually surprised because a lot of people said re gearing is a must or I'll get horrible gas mileage and feel a lot of power loss. On long highway trips I get about 18 mpg @ ~ 2000 rpm going 60-65 mph. Rpm's might be a tad high but not too bad.

Pictures of the scangauge were taken on I- 95 on a slight incline with a steady foot.

What a beast! It looks like you changed the lights in the bumper to LEDs? How do they compare? Do you have al your lights wired to individual interior switches?

Love it man, Looks awesome! Gives me motivation to do this to my T4R.

Cheers

Thanks, the mod bug hit me pretty quickly.

Yep, LEDs are a lot brighter. I have them pointed pretty low so I can use them when I drive.

All my lights have their own rocker switch. One for bumper lights, one for light bar and one for two light cubes on the back for back up lights.

Dang, killing it with the 35s! That's pretty impressive gas mileage. Also, those pictures on the beach are awesome. I really wanna drive on one some day...

I have lots of fun on the beach with this thing. 4runners aren't very heavy.. If you have a good pair or tires and whip it into 4wd you're set.

Hit 211 bhp today. Not too shabby. Scangauges are apparently within +/- 5%, so just sharing some data....

In other news.. Bought this today! I will be painting it silver millennium metallic to match the 4runner. Didn't buy the scoop insert though because it stops the air from coming in. So, to keep dust and junk from entering my engine bay I am going to apply some wire meshing to keep the air coming through.

Nice build so far! Ive always been a fan of color matched bumpers! Im in the process or ordering a bumper but cant decide on relentless stealth bumper or 4xinnovations. Yours is enticing me to get 4x haha

I love my 4x innovation bumper. It was made very carefully. The welds and everything were pretty much perfect. It only took about an hour to install.

I have the 4x rear bumper too, but I bought it separately. I wish I bought them at the same time to get a discount. But either way, I think the bumper is priced very fairly.

Nice. How long did it take to receive the bumper? Did you have any problems with alignment? Ive read some members having a hard time bolting it. Im also debating if i wanna do a body lift and eventually run 34-35s so definitely need to do that before buying the bumper and rewelding my sliders closer to the body.

I'm not sure how they do it now, but when I ordered they make it MTO so they only make it when it's ordered so it took them a little over a week (almost 2) to make it and then it took a couple of days to ship since I live in PA.

Mine lined up perfectly.. I just got all of my nuts and bolts started in the brackets for the bumper and then snugged them up once they were all started. I know if you try to tighten one side without having the other side started the holes won't line up.

If I were you and were planning on doing a body lift, I would get the bumper for a 1" or 2" body lift (which ever you choose) so you don't have to try to fix the bumper gap later.
But, I wouldn't let that discourage you from getting the bumper because they're awesome.

By the way I tried using the bumper relocation brackets for my CBI bumper and it didn't work so the only thing we can do it weld up new mounts right on top of the original mounts and then drill new holes on the front mounting points, I took off my bunoer and put the stock one on and it looks better tbh haha

Are you not putting your CBI back on?

Did you ever get your 4Runner back up and running?
